A: You can pay this notice of liability using any method noted below:
Q: What happens if I do not pay this notice of liability?
A: Failure to pay the penalty amount in full by the due date will expose you to additional fees and penalties. These penalties include, but are not limited to, additional fees, collection actions, as well as booting and/or towing.

A: You may request a copy by calling (888) 944-6446.
Q: Why did I get this notice of liability?
A: A vehicle registered or leased to you was photographed by an automatic speed enforcement system. The system detects vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit, records the event electronically, and photographs the vehicle. The system shows on each photograph the date, time, location, and speed of the vehicle.
Q: Will payment of the penalty amount result in points?
A: No points can be assessed for this violation; it will not show on your driving record; and it will not raise your insurance rates.
Q: Can I contest this violation?
A: You can request an administrative hearing by returning the completed form at the bottom of the notice prior to the DUE DATE. You will be notified by mail of the hearing date. If you do not receive a notification within 30 days, call (888) 944-6446.
Q: What do I do if my vehicle or registration plates were stolen?
A: Prior to the due date, bring a copy of the notice of liability and a copy of the police report to the Elmwood Place Police Department located at 300 Maple St, Elmwood Place, Ohio 45216.
Q: Will the police officer who approved my notice of liability be present on my hearing date?
A: A representative of the Elmwood Place Police Department will be present.
Q: How do I arrange for accommodations for persons with disabilities?
A: The Village of Elmwood Place will make any reasonable accommodation for persons with disabilities. Requests should be directed to the Village of Elmwood Place prior to the hearing date. Please call (888) 944-6446 to make any needed arrangements.
Q: What if I was not operating the vehicle?
A: You must complete a Transfer of Liability Affidavit which includes a sworn statement in which you swear or affirm that you were not operating the vehicle, and the name and the address of the responsible operator. The vehicle owner and the responsible operator must appear before a notary public. Once this Transfer of Liability Affidavit is properly completed it must be mailed by certified mail, return receipt requested, and be received no later than 20 calendar days from the date of issuance of the notice of liability. All Transfer of Liability Affidavit forms are sent for approval to the administrative hearing officer appointed by the Village. After approval, the liable operator will be notified. Q: Will I receive a notice of liability for driving 25mph in a 25mph zone?
A: No.
Q: I received a notice of liability for driving 25mph in a 20mph school zone. Is this correct?
A: Yes, enforcement can begin at 5 mph over the posted speed limit in designated locations.
If I choose to go to court, will I have to pay a court fee?
Yes, there is a court-imposed fee of $25.00 for each notice of liability contested.
